Students will begin their AQA Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies with the study of Christian Beliefs and Teachings.

Students will begin their AQA Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies with the study of Christian Beliefs and Teachings.

Full 24 mark end of unit assessment

Term 3: Islamic Beliefs and Teachings 1

Students will build on their knowledge of Islam from KS3 and study the key beliefs and teachings of the faith in this unit as a key component of their Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies.

A range of GCSE style exam questions throughout the unit.

Term 4: Islamic Beliefs and Teachings 2

Students will build on their knowledge of Islam from KS3 and study the key beliefs and teachings of the faith in this unit as a key component of their Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies.

Full 24 mark GCSE style assessment.

Term 5: Revision and mock exam

Students will complete a mock examination on the units studied so far: Christian and Islamic Beliefs and Teachings. Revision will take place in the lesson leading up to the exam this term.

2 x 24 mark assessments in exam conditions.

Term 6: Theme A: Relationships and Families 1

Students will begin their Thematic studies, component 2 of their Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies with Theme A. Here they will apply their knowledge of Christian and Islamic Beliefs and Teachings to the moral and ethical issues surrounding relationships and families.
